About

Pangea started life as a small web department, exclusively supporting Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty (RFE/RL). We've come a long way since then. Today, we are a team of around 50 experienced professionals, operating under the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM). In addition to RFE/RL, we also support Voice of America (VOA) and Office of Cuba Broadcasting (OCB).

Our Goals

1To support free press in countries where it’s most needed
2To be an innovative leader in digital news design and development
3To make the RFE/RL and Current Time brands instantly recognizable, visually cohesive, and bold

These goals help us support the Mission Statement of RFE/RL:

“RFE/RL's mission is to promote democratic values by providing accurate, uncensored news and open debate in countries where a free press is threatened and disinformation is pervasive. RFE/RL reports the facts, undaunted by pressure.”

Awards & Commendations

Our work has been recognized by IADAS (The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences) – as well as by other reputable international organizations. We’ve been finalists alongside other leaders in digital news, such as The Guardian, Vice, and CNN.
